Should I replace my roof before installing solar?
If the roof has less life left than the panels do — almost always yes. Panels last 25+ years; putting them on a 15-year-old shingle roof schedules an expensive detach-and-reset in your future. Roof first, then solar.
A leak showed up under my solar panels. Who fixes it?
The roofer. The leak is in the roof — usually at a mounting penetration — not in the panels. Both trades pointing at each other is exactly the runaround this service exists to end: one contractor, responsible for the whole assembly.
Can you re-roof around the panels?
The rest of the roof, yes — but the section under the array needs the panels off to be done right. Roofing around an array leaves the oldest roof under the hardest-to-reach spot.
Do you handle the panel removal yourselves?
Detach and reset is managed as part of the job, with the electrical recommissioning verified at the end. You make one call and get one bill — no coordinating two contractors who’ve never met.
